As a promotional organization, the Assam Khadi & Village Industries Board (AKVIB) has been giving much importance to train up the unemployed youths of the state so that they become capable to set up rural industries and thereby earn their own livelihood and generate employment for others. The Board has been running one training centre at Raha in Nagaon District which is called as Multi Disciplinary Training Centre (MDTC).

The above courses are being conducted in different times of the financial year. Lodging with Food facilities and Stipend for trainees are arranged as per norms of the Khadi & Village Industries Commission.
